Modern Slavery Statement
Knightsbridge Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Knightsbridge Removals has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and to act with integrity in all our business relationships.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Knightsbridge Removals maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery has no place in our own operations or in any part of our supply chains.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to act in accordance with this commitment. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in modern slavery, and we reserve the right to terminate relationships where a breach of this policy is identified and not promptly and effectively remedied.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Knightsbridge Removals provides residential and commercial removals, storage, and associated services. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, vehicle and equipment suppliers, storage facilities, packaging material manufacturers, subcontracted labour providers, property services, and professional advisers.
We recognise that certain areas of our supply chain may carry higher risks, particularly where temporary labour, outsourced services, or international sourcing of goods and materials is involved. Our approach focuses on identifying, assessing, and reducing these risks through proportionate and targeted measures.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We carry out due diligence on new suppliers and review existing suppliers periodically to assess their compliance with our standards on labour and human rights. As part of our supplier approval and review process, we:
Require suppliers to acknowledge our zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and confirm that they comply with all applicable labour laws and regulations in their jurisdictions.
Assess the nature of the goods or services provided, the geographic location, and the use of subcontractors to determine the level of modern slavery risk.
Conduct audits or request evidence of suppliers own policies, codes of conduct, and training where a higher risk is identified.
Where necessary, we work with suppliers to improve their practices. If a supplier fails to meet our standards or is unwilling to address concerns, we may suspend or end the business relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for implementing and overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement rests with the senior management of Knightsbridge Removals. Managers are tasked with promoting awareness of modern slavery risks, ensuring that relevant procedures are followed, and supporting employees who raise concerns.
We provide appropriate training to employees whose roles involve procurement, recruitment, or supplier management. This training covers recognising signs of modern slavery, understanding our policies, and knowing how to respond to potential issues.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone working for or with Knightsbridge Removals, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers, to report any concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking. Concerns may include suspected exploitation, unsafe or coercive working conditions, or evidence that a supplier is not meeting our standards.
Reports can be made in person to a line manager or senior manager, or through our internal reporting mechanisms. All concerns raised in good faith will be taken seriously, treated sensitively, and investigated promptly. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns or assist in investigations.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Knightsbridge Removals is committed to continuous improvement in its approach to combating modern slavery. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, our operations, or our risk assessment.
As part of the annual review, we assess the effectiveness of our policies, training, and supplier due diligence measures. We then identify areas for enhancement, which may include strengthening contractual terms, increasing the scope of audits, or providing additional staff training.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the senior management of Knightsbridge Removals and reflects our ongoing commitment to conducting business responsibly, ethically, and with respect for the rights and dignity of all people.
